米沢市と「災害時・平常時における物資拠点運営及び輸送等に関する協定」を締結

～平時から災害時まで、物流を通じて地域の安心を支える体制を構築～

■協定締結の背景 

近年、日本各地では地震や豪雨などの自然災害が相次いで発生しており、災害時における物流機能の重要性はますます高まっています。災害発生直後は、支援物資を迅速かつ適切に被災地へ届けるための「物流」が重要な役割を担います。

イズミ物流では、食品物流で培った物流ノウハウに加え、医薬品・医療機器物流にも取り組んでおり、温度管理を含めた高品質な物流サービスを提供しています。

今回の協定締結により、米沢ロジスティクスセンターを地域の物流拠点として活用し、行政と民間が連携した災害対応体制の構築を推進してまいります。

■協定の概要 

本協定では、災害時および平常時において、次のような取り組みを実施します。

【災害時】

・支援物資・備蓄物資の受け入れ

・物資の保管・仕分け・在庫管理

・フォークリフトオペレーター等の人員・機材の提供

・医薬品・医療物資など温度管理が必要な物資の保管

・避難所等への配送計画の策定および輸送

・その他、米沢市が必要と認める支援

【平常時】

・備蓄物資の保管場所の提供

・医薬品・医療物資等の温度管理

・使用期限管理および情報提供

・棚卸し、在庫管理・品質管理への協力

・災害対応を見据えた情報共有・連携強化

■米沢ロジスティクスセンターの強み 

イズミ物流米沢ロジスティクスセンターは、食品物流に加え、医薬品・医療機器物流にも対応した物流センターです。

Izumi Logistics Concludes Disaster Preparedness Agreement with Yonezawa City

Building a logistics support framework to protect local communities in both normal times and emergencies

Izumi Logistics Co., Ltd. (Head Office: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President: Shinichi Hirano) is pleased to announce that it concluded an agreement with Yonezawa City, Yamagata Prefecture, on July 1, 2026, regarding the operation of supply hubs and transportation services during disasters and normal times.

Under this agreement, Izumi Logistics will cooperate with Yonezawa City in receiving, storing, sorting, managing, and transporting relief supplies and stockpiled goods in the event of a large-scale disaster. The agreement also covers the proper storage and management of stockpiled supplies, pharmaceuticals, and medical materials during normal times.

■Background

In recent years, Japan has experienced frequent natural disasters, including earthquakes and heavy rainfall. As a result, the importance of logistics functions during emergencies has continued to increase.

Immediately after a disaster, logistics plays a critical role in delivering necessary supplies quickly and appropriately to affected areas.

Izumi Logistics has developed expertise in food logistics as well as pharmaceutical and medical device logistics, providing high-quality logistics services, including temperature-controlled storage and transportation.

Through this agreement, Izumi Logistics will utilize its Yonezawa Logistics Center as a regional logistics hub and strengthen a public-private disaster response framework in cooperation with Yonezawa City.

■Overview of the Agreement 

Under this agreement, the following initiatives will be carried out during disasters and normal times.

During Disasters

・Receiving relief supplies and stockpiled goods

・Storage, sorting, and inventory management of supplies

・Provision of personnel and equipment, including forklift operators

・Proper storage of pharmaceuticals and medical materials requiring temperature control

・Planning and transportation of supplies from the logistics hub to evacuation shelters and other locations

・Other support deemed necessary by Yonezawa City

During Normal Times

・Provision of storage space for stockpiled supplies

・Temperature-controlled storage of pharmaceuticals and medical materials

・Expiration date management and information sharing

・Cooperation in inventory checks, inbound/outbound management, and quality control

・Continuous information sharing and coordination in preparation for emergencies

■Strengths of the Yonezawa Logistics Center

The Izumi Logistics Yonezawa Logistics Center supports not only food logistics but also pharmaceutical and medical device logistics.

Equipped with temperature-controlled storage facilities, the center can handle relief supplies as well as pharmaceuticals and medical materials that require strict quality control during emergencies.

Izumi Logistics will continue to strengthen its coordination with local government authorities in normal times to ensure rapid and effective responses during disasters.
